The chalk itself feels great, very soft and completely covers my hands. It doesn't seem to last as long as white chalk, which I kind of anticipated so no marks against it for that. Unfortunately the chalk is actually a very, very light brown. The sandstone that we climbed on in Moab and in Arches is a much, MUCH darker reddish brown than the chalk we received. A local climber chastised us for using this chalk in Arches Natl Park, saying that using this chalk would ruin the visual aesthetic of the highly visible climbing routes in the park. The chalk itself is 4, maybe 5 stars, but because we couldn't use it where it was advertised to be for, I'm deducting 2 stars. Arches has a specific policy that any chalk used must blend into the natural rock colors, which this did not. It actually blended in really well with the granite at City of Rocks in Idaho though, and so I'll hold onto it for when I climb on light gray/dusty brown rock again.
